Then you learn that they have verified profiles. You look at your account and you see you don’t have one. So the real question you are probably having now is how to get verified on Instagram?

Well lucky for you, we have that answer. Today we are gonna uncover the mystery and debunk once and for all how you can get your very own verification badge on Instagram and get a verified account just like your favorite celebrities and influencers.

Not just that but we are also gonna give you tips on how to get verified on Instagram to increase your chances of success. So without further ado, let’s dive in

How to Know if you are Verified?

An Instagram verified account gets a verified badge. It’s a blue seal with a little check mark that appears next to your username. It looks something like this in the picture shown below

If you see someone having this blue tick or check mark beside their name, then this is an indicator that they have a verified Instagram account. This blue tick mark is also known as the verification badge.

Why Does the Verified Batch Matter?

So you’re now probably wondering like Jesus! What gives! Who even cares? Why does it matter anyway? Well truth to be told the verified batch is more than just a blue tick slapped beside your name

It shows your account is authentic

Having the verified batch means your account is verified and  has been confirmed as authentic by Instagram. Instagram verification means establishing your Instagram account as the “authentic presence of a notable public figure, celebrity, or global brand.” You can apply for Instagram verification with either a personal account or a business account

Status Symbol

Beyond that, though, it’s a bit of a status symbol. After all, according to Instagram itself, the verification badge is evidence that you’re “notable.”

Avoid Duplication

The verified badge lets users ignore imposter accounts and helps them to identify the brands or public figures they choose to track. This appears in both your profile and embedded posts. It helps users make sure they locate actual profiles for the individuals and companies they ‘re searching for.

For example, it will help you see the difference between a Celebrity account and a Fan account for that Celebrity at a glance. In the case of brands, it will help avoid and stop knock-offs from taking your momentum and your fans.

Get more Visibility and Collaboration

if you’re a certified influencer on Instagram, not just consumers but brands and businesses will also trust you. Influencers are a crucial platform for  both advertisers and businesses to grow their products and services. They’ll trust you as it is being represented by a real person.

Your account will be more visible to your followers as users love to interact with genuine accounts more compared to a non-verified account.  Thus, you’ll get more engagement

Can I get a Verified Badge?

Of course, the verified badge doesn’t come for free and you have to invest your fair share of efforts into getting one. This seal of approval from Instagram is in high demand, which is precisely why they won’t verify any and every account.  I mean think about it. If everyone could get verified on Instagram, would the status have any value to you? It would lose its essence.

So, it depends on whether your account meets all the criteria and ser standards. For this, you must adhere to the network’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. And, as Instagram explains on its website, your account must also be:

Authentic.

This should be a no brainer. You clearly have to be who you say you are. That is an actual person, a registered company/business, or a brand/trademark. To put it in perspective, it  must represent something real

So long as you haven’t created a fan page for a celebrity or some other form of profile that reflects another company or business, authenticity is the easiest move for you.

Unique

Your account must be the unique presence of the person or business it represents. Content on your profile must also be unique. All pictures have to be yours and created by you. If it is ripped off from others, you risk being unqualified for the badge

Note:  Only one account per person or business may be verified, with exceptions of language-specific accounts. Instagram says it does not verify general interest accounts like meme roundups.

Complete

It goes without saying that your account must be public for everyone to view. Make sure you have a bio, profile photo, and at least one post.

Note:  According to Instagram, your profile can’t contain “add me” links to other social media services.

Notable

The last requirement is perhaps the hardest to achieve. Instagram urges that verified accounts must “represent a well-known, highly searched for person, brand, or entity.” So, long story short, a public figure, celebrity, or global brand. When it reviews a verification application, Instagram looks at whether the user is featured in multiple news sources.

Note:  Paid or promotional contents are not considered for review

Tips to Get Verified on Instagram:

Anyone can submit a request for Instagram verification. But Instagram is quite clear about the matter: “submitting a request for verification does not guarantee that your account will be verified.”

So following are some tips that you can adopt to increase the chances of you succeeding in getting your account verified:

Be Honest

Make sure you always represent yourself and not some cheap knock off or contents of other people. Use real name and choose the right category for your account Make sure you fill in the right details

This should be obvious. But just in case you’re thinking about trying to cheat the system, know this. Instagram specifically says, “If you provide false or misleading information during the verification process, we will remove your verified badge and may take additional action to delete your account.”

Get Featured

The Instagram team checks each verification request manually. There’s no algorithm that you can use to your advantage. With that said, Instagram always checks to see whether or not you have been featured in any news sources before.

In order to do that, publish one of your noteworthy works or send out press releases. Post relevant blogs and stories in your website for that added extra visibility. Keep in mind that paid or promotional content doesn’t count.

Grow Online Presence outside Instagram

Also, even though you have tons of Instagram subscribers, if you don’t have some influence outside of Instagram, it is challenging to make the argument that you’re “notable.”

Optimize your websites or blogs to appear in search result Do SEO to get your site and blog ranked. You could consider posting blogs and making videos as long as they align with the niche you’re working on to grow your online presence.

Promote your Instagram Account in Other Media

It’s always the best practice to include your Instagram ID or link to your profile to various other platforms you use. In your website, you can link your Instagram account for people to contact you. You can do this in Linkedin and Facebook too.

So include a link to your Instagram profile on your other social media channels, website, and any other online profile you maintain.

Include your Website Link on Profile

This is a great way to show that your account is authentic making it easy to label you as real. However, do not link to other social networks. Instagram says it won’t approve profiles that “contain ‘add me’ links to other social channels.” So do not cross-promote your other social accounts in the bio.

Post Regularly

Yes! We know it says you must post at least once to be considered eligible for verification. But you are not here to be just eligible. You are here to take the entire thing.

You should not apply for the badge unless you have a very good presence in the platform. An inactive account usually gets overlooked and sometimes can be an unsuitable candidate for verification. So post regularly to increase your chances of getting verified.

Get More Followers

Remember that one of the requirements for verification is being “notable.” More Followers is a key indicator that you are notable. While there is no said or set number of followers you need to be deemed worthy for authentication, you do need to have a respectable number of followers. So focus on your posts in order to draw new fans.

The factor that Instagram recognizes is how likely you are to be impersonated. No one is able to impersonate an account with a few fans. The bigger your account,

The larger your account, The bigger the account, the more likely it is that you will be copied in Instagram which increases the probability that Instagram would want you to have the authentication badge.

Don’t Use Third-Party App Verifications

There’s no shortcut to getting an Instagram verification badge. This is not the place where you wanna trick your way out of it. Many third-party apps promise to do that.

But understand the fact that they are scammers at best. No one can sell your Instagram Verification. You must carefully go through all the steps we mentioned to get verified

Keep Trying

If you’ve been denied in your first request, don’t lose hope. Keep trying. Take this time to reflect on your profile and work on growing yourself and your audience. You can again apply after 30 days.

Conclusion:

Patience. That’s the key, You don’t wanna rush this. If you’re someone whos been working hard and has a notable presence in Instagram and other platforms and produces your own content, you’ll get verified sooner or later after rigorous screening of your verification request. In case you haven’t, take the time to reflect on yourself and try again. Lucky for you, there are no set limits on Instagram
